A temporary closure during 2022 due to discussions with the extremely kind and generous landlord about Covid related backpay put a large spanner in the works for anyone who needs a guaranteed darts venue somewhere fairly near Waterloo Station (i.e. me). However, in 2023 it is back in play, and as busy as ever.
Fundamentally this is a pool hall, and a very welcome one at that, with a row of dart boards nestled at the rear, with a somewhat low ceiling. Upstairs, however, there are another six boards – generally reserved for individual league players – including the cleverest self-scoring dart board that I’ve seen so far. (For the dart board nerd, I believe it is the Prodigy Steel Tip, which costs about £1k!).
Do visit Spots and Stripes. And if you are new to the venue, and it is dark, don’t be too put off by the alleyway, and don’t walk staight past; the underwhelming entrance tells nothing about the fun to be had inside!
