The state of London’s darts

December 18, 2023

Just occasionally, someone else shows an interest in what’s going on in darts in London – and in this case it’s The Guardian who noted that London is barely represented in the 31 English-based players at Ally Pally for the PDC worlds this year.

London’s darts pubs and team leagues are without doubt in serious decline, and it’s not slow. And Flight Club doesn’t fill a gap – dartatainment has its place, but not for anyone who wants to play proper darts. But the decline of London’s dart scene is a little overstated. There are more than 200 players in the superbly run COLDA league, ranging from the really very good to the absolute beginner. With several COLDA players on the various PDC support tours, this seems exactly the route for anyone within striking distance of the capital to start their journey towards Alexandra Palace.

COLDA’s next season runs from January to April 2024, with registrations by 8 January. Enjoy.
