This is a pleasant little boozer which presumably was once surrounded by fields. The board is stuck in a corner and regularly blocked by tables, so there’s no guarantee of getting a game – but over the years I have visited during the day and the board is regularly in use (as it was on visits in both 2022 and 2023 visits). During Pandemic-fuelled lockdowns pubs like this entered my dreams, and I promised never to under-rate them again.
