Beautiful backstreet boozer with a board upstairs in a room that can be hired out (unseen on 2022 visit due to a private function taking place).

For the darts pub historian, this place has changed somewhat since Dixie, former boxer and landlord of 30 years (and, possibly, a star of This is Your Life!) moved on in 2013. But it still has a board, so that’s all good.

I visited this pub on a Friday lunchtime and the board had been packed away and the area used for dining. They apparently set it up for league matches and if people call ahead to book.

First visit in March 2019 and the board was upstairs and available.
Note the stairs are those directly behind the bar. We wouldn’t have gone up if we hadn’t confirmed the bar staff meant these stairs.
Board in a narrow nook that is only suitable for darts but the top floor can be rented for functions I think.
